Our home teacher's method connects children to prayer:
Live show of ablution: First, ablution! Our reciter himself sits in front of the children and explains the correct way to wash each organ and teaches the prayers of ablution. After that, the child repeats it himself.
'Movie' of prayer: While teaching prayer, every movement is explained as if the child is watching a movie. We tell him where the gaze should be in bowing, where to place the hands, and how long to stay between the two prostrations.
