The role of parents: How much support is there in a child becoming a Hafiz?
A child becoming a Hafiz of the Quran is not just an academic achievement but a great spiritual blessing. In this journey, parents are the silent pillars without whom it is very difficult to reach this destination. If you want your child to memorize the Quran in his chest, then you should support him by considering him not just a student but a "little mujahid".
Parents can be the best support for their child in the following ways:
1. A calm home environment
Mental harmony is very important for memorizing the Quran. When the child is memorizing lessons, minimize the use of TV, noise or mobile at home. Give him a corner where he can concentrate on the word of Allah with complete peace. The peace of your home can have a magical effect in sharpening the child's memory.
2. Not anger, but encouragement
During memorization, there are days when the child forgets the lesson or has difficulty remembering it. At such times, instead of scolding him or comparing him to others, encourage him. Tell him: "It's okay son, you memorized very well before, with a little effort you will do this too". A loving sentence from you can relieve his fatigue.
3. Helping with repetition
The teacher only listens to the lesson once, but maturity comes when there is repetition (manzil) at home. If you know how to read the Quran yourself, take out 15 to 20 minutes every day and listen to his lesson. If you don't know, then even then sit him next to you and watch him recite the Quran; this attention of yours will make him realize how important the work he is doing is.
4. Special attention to food and sleep
The brain of a child who memorizes is burdened. Give him a balanced diet that is good for memory, such as almonds, honey and milk. Also, make sure that the child sleeps early at night so that his mind remains fresh and he can easily remember the lesson in the morning.
5. Special prayer of parents
Parents' prayers for their children are never rejected. Cry after every prayer and ask Allah to make it easy for your child. Make him feel that "Son! Your mother and I pray for you all the time". This belief never lets the child break.
Summary: A child does not learn only from the teacher, he learns from your passion. When you give importance to the Quran, he will also make it the goal of his life. Remember, tomorrow on the Day of Judgment when you will be crowned with the crown of light, it will be the reward of your silent hard work.
